Motorola has released update for moto g 1st gen. matt jones answer is also something that you need to check. if your phone is in carrier contract, you may have to wait until your network provider roll out updates. also, if your phone was in carrier contract and now is unlocked, you may not get update as network providers usually do not provide updates to unlocked phones.. An update to the motorola update services app has hit google play for owners of the moto g (1st gen), signifying an impending update to lollipop.the changelog is quite clear for owners, stating. If you are having bluetooth trouble, updates should be available through microsoft's windows update service. if drivers were not downloaded automatically by windows update, use device manager to refresh the driver from windows update, or contact the device manufacturer..
I recently purchased a moto g (3rd gen.) and i am annoyed by the "update to marshmallow" notifications. i contacted motorola support for a solution, and they told me that the device can update to 6.0 marshmallow without my permission.. Motorola reportedly promised one major os update for the moto g6 series, but made no such promise for the moto e5 series. both series will reportedly get security updates, but not on a monthly basis.. Settings, notifications, click on 3 dots upper right, show system, scroll down to motorola update service, click on it, block all. hope that works. i'm sick of the incessant update notifications myself..
