Panasonic PT – DZ770

Replacement procedure for lamp unit
1. Power off the projector and disconnect the power plug from the power outlet.
And wait at least one hour, and then check if the lamp unit has been cooled down.
2. Loosen the lamp unit cover fixing screw (one screw) until it turns freely, and then open the lamp unit cover in the direction of the arrow.
3. Loosen the lamp unit fixing screw (three screws each) until it turns freely, and then holding the handles, pull out the lamp unit from the projector.
4. Install the Lamp units and install the lamp unit cover. Perform the disconect step in the reverse order.
Projector does not turn on by protection circuit, if Lamp unit or Lamp unit cover are installed inperfect. When you replace yje new lamp unit, the projector resets the total usage time of the lamp unit automatically.
Air filter maintenance
1. The air filter is clogged with dust, causing the filter replacement message to appear on the screen and the filter indicator <FILTER> to light in red. In such a case, clean the air filter unit.
2. The proceeds of the air filter clogging, becomes hot of projector inside, and <TEMP>indicator is lit , power shut down. Then <FILTER>Indicator remains red , <TEMP> indicator will blink (2 times) red.
3. Indication of cleaning is 12,000 hours. but varies greatly depending on the usage environment. If dirt does not come off even if the unit is maintained, it is time for the unit to be replaced.
Cleaning procedure for air filter unit
1. Power off the projector and disconnect the power plug from the power outlet.
And wait at least one hour, and then check if the lamp unit has been cooled down.
2. Loosen the lamp unit cover fixing screw (one screw) until it turns freely, and then remove the Air filter cover.
3. Hold the tabks on the air filter unit and pull out the air filter unit from the projctor.
4. Clean and dry the air filter unit.
1) Soak the air filter unit in cold or warm water and then lightly rinse it.
 Do not use cleaning tools such as brushes.
When rinsing, fold the frame of the air filter unit without putting strong
pressure on the filter unit.
2) Rinse the unit two to three times using fresh water each times.
3) Let the unit naturally dry off in a well-ventilated place where there is little
dust and the unit is protected from direct sunlight.
After clearing the air filter unit, make sure that it is sufficiently dry before reinstalling it to the projector.
Do not dry using drying devices such as dryers. (Please read the page 'Maintenance / Replacement' on the instruction book to know about diatils.)
Initialization for menu lock password
Follow the procedure below to initialize the password to the default "AAAA".
1. While menu lock password is shown on the screen, press ‘AUTO SETUP’ button on remote controller or operation panel for more than 2 seconds.
2. Press Down  button for more than 2 seconds.

Service Mode
This model has Service Mode in addition to regular on screen menu (user mode).
This mode enables some menu settings for the service operation.
Setting to Service Mode
2. Input "1565" by remote controller and press ENTER. Then it goes into the Service Mode.
3. Press MENU button on the main body or remote controller and the menu of Service Mode is displayed.

Resetting to User Mode
2. Input "0000" by remote controller and press ENTER. Then the Serviceman Mode is disabled.
3. Press MENU button on the main body or remote controller and the menu of User Mode is displayed
1. Press menu button of main body or remote controller and go to Main menu -> "Projector setup".
Then go to sub menu and select "Service Password" and press ENTER.
